AW helps Birmingham City Council analyse Adult Social Care demand

Birmingham City Council is adopting Affinity Works business intelligence solutions to support its ongoing improvement of Adult Social Care strategic planning.

Initial focus will be on deploying the Affinity Works Demand Model dashboards to provide a clearer picture of the changing shape of demand for the many categories of care that the council provide and to inform planning & budgeting cycles.

The wider Affinity Works data analytics toolset will also be deployed to provide Birmingham with comprehensive reporting on the council’s Spend & Activity and on the Quality & Capacity of its local care marketplace.

Affinity Works’ business intelligence solutions combine data from internal business systems (such as Case Management and Finance applications) with external open source data sets from organisations like the Care Quality Commission and the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

The resulting interactive analytics dashboards provide client sites with the ability to scrutinise their spend and their market, improving forward planning and helping them manage both the cost of care and the availability of quality care services.

Richard Wellings, Director at Affinity Works says: “We are hugely excited to be deploying our solutions to support critical service planning in one of the biggest local authorities in Europe.”
